Lagos, the largest city in Nigeria, is located on the Gulf of Guinea. It occupies Lagos Island, Ikoyi Island, and Victoria Island, as well as a large area on the mainland, all connected by a series of bridges and freeways.   Although many Nigerian government offices are being moved to the new capital city of Abuja, Lagos remains the economic capital of the country. An open-air market near the Central Mosque displays the diversity of Nigerian economic manufactures, many created by family-run enterprises producing traditional craft goods.   Ibadan, a city in a hilly, forested region in southwestern Nigeria, serves as an important trade center for the surrounding agricultural area.   One of the largest cities in Nigeria, Kano is located in the dry, hot northern part of the country. Many of Kano's buildings are constructed of mud.     Traditional houses of the Hausa people of northwestern Nigeria and southwestern Niger are typically built of mud, like this one in the city of Kano, Nigeria. These houses are often decorated with bas-relief geometrical designs.
